Today marks the anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies in the history of the United States. As I signed into LJ I was expected more posts to be about 9/11 but only one of my friends had made a post about it. The day after 9/11 everything had an American flag on it but now those have faded away. I'm a bit surprised but at the same time for some people it's a difficult thing to remember; you never know what is going on inside of an individuals mind. I have a friend who was in the area at the time and he does not like talking about it because of the memories it brings back.

I remember when I first heard that a couple of planes had hit the trade center I was going to my English class. I figured that it was a couple of small planes that had had engine troubles or something like that. I found out very shortly that was not the case and on television I watched the second tower collapse. It was still hard to believe; it felt like an action movie. It didn't feel -real-. Until the day started to wear out and I was in my math class. One girl in front of me started to bitch how she was going to miss her softball practice. I snapped and I told her ''Oh yeah, well 10,000 people lost their lives. I think you'll be okay" At the time who knew how many people had died. I couldn't stay in that classroom any more. I asked if I could go to the bathroom and I think I stayed in there for half an hour and I started to cry off on and on and finally my teacher came for me and told me I could sit the rest of the class out. I think she knew and I knew that I was not going to be able to absorb anything that was being said.

And here I am 7 years later and I'm still moved by what happened. I was watching a documentary with my mother that was a collected of first hand accounts of 9/11 from the beginning to the end documented and edited. It was really well done and I found myself getting bleary eyed a couple of times. No matter how many years go by..

Never forget.

I think I succeeded in leaving the lamest voicemail ever tonight XD Buy hey, Mena asked for calls about random stuff and I think it was kinda funny? It'll either be funny or get a 'wtf?!' for a response.

There was a bunch of stuff I wanted to write tonight, but after writing that God Awful critical review, which is 10 pages long and still isn't complete, I don't have the energy to post a decent entry. So yeah, after I'm done with all of my exams, I'll post an actual entry.

WTF mate? LJ has been acting up on me but I think part of it is because my internet sucks right now. It lets me log in but then I never stay logged in so I can't read my own entries or friends-only ones on my friends page lol.

I checked on the status of my SBC modem and it should be here on the 15th. Talk about taking forever and a day to send something out but at least it is coming at long last.

I haven't seen too much of my friends lately which kinda sucks =/ I was going to play D&D on friday but then my car's thermometer spazzed out on me and steam started coming out of the car. Now everything is a-okay but last friday I was a wee bit on the nervous side. (I've dealt with enough stuff with my car that I don't panic or anything now lol)I haven't played the regular campaign in 5 weeks because everyone has had schedule conflicts. I really hope we play this weekend. I went to Lansing with Eric not last saturday but the saturday after that and that was fun. I may or may not see him this weekend it all depends on how his grandma feels.

I gave natalie and dave a call so hopefully one of the two will call me back soon because it'd be nice to hang out with them. I want to go to the Renfaire and going to it by myself? Not so much fun =/

Hmm there's an interesting little debate going on in my college's message board. Someone who doesn't agree with bushes policies very politely put down a few links to websites that show ways to say you don't agree with Bush being elected. In no way did they insult bush or anyone who supports Bush.

And what happened to this person? They were publically and personally attacked. People were telling them to go to Canada and telling them they were ignorant, etc etc. And then to top it off some of the people decided that ridiculing them on the messages boards wasn't enough. Oh no no no no, they had to bring it to live journal and post their live journal entry in the message boards.

You know who you are and I'm not going to give names or elude to anything else. All I am going to say is this..people are free to express what they want especially if it isn't vulgar or offensive. It is unfair and very undemocratic to insult people for wanting to make a difference. Sure they might not be doing what YOU think is the way to go about something, but atleast they are doing something. Atleast they are getting involved in the politics of this country where alot of people couldn't careless.

Because I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and shouldn't get huge amounts of flack for it I'm not going to post a link to the message board, copy anything down from the message board or link to the livejournals where people are discussing it. This is just my way of saying knock it off and let people express themselves the way they want to.

Peace.

*TRAUMATIZED*

OH MY LAWD

I was at Joel's house tonight watching movie. He was going out for a smoke and then he calls me over. He was pretty worked up and when I asked what he said there was a big slug. I looked and saw this long, yellowish thing with little pointers. I walked over to it and I was like 'Joel..it's a twig or something'

then I moved back and I FELT I FEEELLLLTTT my foot sink and something go squish.

Joel flails around and screams "JENNNY NOOOOOO TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES"

I do so and then I look behind me and there was this MASSIVE..MASSIVE..slug! It was so eviiiiiil looking. With it's dark marks and twitchy antenna. It was still alive too!

I scooped it up in a cup and I flung it into the bushes..and I heard a thud. If there's one thing that a slug should not do..IT"S MAKE A THUD WHEN IT HITS THE GROUND.

Btw Lore, when you get that VM it's a refrence to this post XD

Man I feel really tired today. Like so tired that I felt sick because I ate something. I need caffiene but there is no caffiene to be found in my house. Well there's lots of tea and coffee but I don't like either of those.

I got my new laptop today. Yaaay. I have to wait for my dad to go and get it set up. I am also going to send off the check to pay off the rest of my otakon room today.I'll drop it off when I go to pick my mom up.

I had a lot of fun this weekend with Mike, Lore and Joel. I finally got to see BR all the way through. Every time I have seen that movie it has been late at night and I doze off through bits and pieces of it.

Poor Joel has been having a rough week this week but now he's taking a break at his parents place which is good. ^^

that's all..I may go and crash in bed for a bit. Take a quick power nap *yawns*

wow..just wow.

I was watching tv and I flicked around and saw Catholic Central on tv (The highschool I graduated from). I left it on that channel to see what was going on.

It spoke about a graduate from CC who had been killed. The reporter mentioned something about two years ago..I graduated two years ago. The person who was killed actually graduated three years ago.

It was my friend Nick Blodgett. I was really good friends with him while he was in school. He was one of the first people I met who loved anime as much as I did. We went to jafax and a few anime meets together. I lost touch with him a little while after highschool..since he enrolled in the army around a year later.

His poor family, his poor brother =/ He went from having a brother to an only child. There's nothing someone can say to comfort someone after that kind of loss.

Argh, this war just..you know, there's a young man, who had his whole life ahead of him..he was only 21..and now he's dead.

This means that although you probably don't attend church every Sunday, you do your best to follow the Ten Commandments, help the needy and generally be an all around good person. Who needs to follow the entire bible anyways? It was written ages ago, and Christ transmuted it by giving his life.

hmm it's kinda funny when I look at my friends enteries. About half the people on my LJ are people that I go to school with/live near/see on a somewhat regular bases and the other half are people that I talk to online and see at anime cons. (YAY OTAKON).What people are talking about are on completely different ends of the spectrum. I'm kinda tempted to c/p some facts from one of my friends from schools journal and see what other people think about it. Because honestly, I love all of my friends at AQ and value their opinions on certain issues..but I'd like to get an outside perspective as well. I mean lets face it guys..we live in a small christian/catholic community that's not the most liberal or diverse. I'd like to get opinions from people who live in a big city like NYC (or near it) and live in diversity.

maybe I'll slap on a few things tonight or tomorrow, see how it goes.

I learned today that being persistant pays off. My computer was crapping out on my yesterday. I could go online but I couldn't use my internet. I called AOL and this guy told me I had to wait 3-5 days. Which is a pretty long time to get help. I called back later on and the next guy told me that my winsock was corrupted.

So I called HP and an hour later my computer was running like it was brand spanking new.

Next I went to Sprint today. My old cellphone died on me and it was so dumb..the guy at the Sprint store by 28th st told me that they couldn't replace it because I spilt coffee on it *rolls eyes* I don't drink coffee! then he wanted me to be a petty thief and told me to get the $5 insurance and wait 20 days then swap phones. Pfft.

so I went to the Sprint store by celebrations and showed them my old phone. I bought a new phone which is actually an old one I got off of ebay. The guy looked over my phone and told me they were gonna check it out and ot come back in 40 minutes. I returned 40 minutes later and he handed me a new phone. The tech had checked everything and there was a fault in the phone. If I had spilt coffee on the phone I would have fessed up to it. The phone was only..6 months old, there's no way I was gonna buy a brand new one..especially when that one was under warranent! So now I have a new phone, it's really nice. I can assign ring tones and it has a color screen ^_^

Hopefully we'll be able to finish off my Ino costume and Mikes Ryouga costume.
I went to the gym last night and that hurt like a mooofoooo. I'm gonna keep going back though and get back into shape *pats her tummy* It was raining like crazy last night too and it looks like it's going to rain again today. Which I don't mind because I love the rain. Except I think my tires a little soft and driving in the rain with a couple of soft tires is bad.

Two more days until Acen! WOOOOOOOOOOT. I'm excited =D. I haven't been to a con in awhile now. Boo for being con deprieved.
My last exam is over and done with.
School is out for the summer and if all goes well I will be a junior next year.
Wow.
Where did that school year go? I can remember clearly how excited I was last august when everyone was comming back to Aquinas. I went over to visit Frank, he was the first to come back. Dave showed up a little later and the three of us hung out for awhile. The next day I went to woodcock and thought it was so cool that all of the Moosers had a house together. I spent a lot of time hanging out there at the beginning of the year.
This year was a great year over all. I made a lot of new friends this year and found a new field that I'm interested in going in. I started to play D&D and through that I became good friends with people like Charles and Joel. Chances are I wouldn't know Jon,Sarah, Joel, Charles, Adam or Ted that well if it wasn't for D&D. I can include Dan in that too because even though Iw as friends with him last year the I mostly saw him on D&D night.
Then there are the people I have recently became good friends with who I wish I would of hung out with more often. Those would be the Robs, Monica and Nicole. It sucks that Nicole had to move away. I don't know why I didn't hang out with her over the weekends, she's such a cool person. Rob A helped me survive math *high fives him* After a few classes I started to talk to him outside of class and it turned out he was a really cool person. We'll have to hang out over the summer =D
The other Rob is a great person as well. It was a lot of fun hanging out at Woodcock with Mike and him. We'd watch movies, talk during them (hehe I got mad when they mocked my shows XD) and then we all went bowling last week which was so much fun.

School got pretty hard this semester but I forced myself to stay focused. This last quarter was insane. I had so much to do but I managed to do all of it *pats herself on the back* Hehe, I think I got the grades I needed for my scholarship. My SPanish exam wasn't the greatest today..I forgot one of the endings. Curse you preterit imperfect subjunctive!

Now I can look forward to con season and seeing all of my friends from different states! *Dances* I can't wait 'till Otakon when I get to hang out with people from PA/NJ/NY. I really want to go back to New York during the summer so I can hang out with everyone for awhile longer and I love the city *glomps it* I'll get to see Lore again next week which'll be great. She's such a cool person, she needs to move down here *wise nod* I'll also get to hang out with the people from SE Michigan at Acen. Wheee..maybe I will tomorrow too, it's all up in the air.
That's all for now..Joels comming over soon to work on my Ino costume with me. Looks like Neji's going on the back burner which is fine. I need a blonde wig for my Ino costume though. I had a long blonde wig but it fell apart..*grumblegrumble*
Anyways,
PEACE!

This summer is going to suck. Why you might ask? Well it'snot because I won't be working because I think I've got a job lined up and people will be around this year..
it is because I live in the midwest and we're going to be hit with Cicadas o__o()
I was reading an article that says to imagine by backyard being filled by chicken McNuggets..
that's kind of freaky.

This weekend was a lot of fun. I watched 9 hours straight of Slayers with Rob,Mike and occasionally Dominic popped in. I went home around 3, even I couldn't watch anymore anime. I stopped by again on saturday and we watched the last CD. Mike and me met up with Joel and we went out shopping. We went to Joanne fabrics I spent around $35 on material for Ino. Then we went over to good Will originally to help Joel find clothes for Cid. What did we found instead?
We found a classic Singer! It looked to be around 50 years old, it's a turquoise blue color and it works..so we bought it! We started on the costume and we're going to finish it on friday.

Later on we went bowling and karaoking. I wanted to sing and I was going to but I got the boot along with Mike and Sarah because we weren't 21. Boooo. We bowled for about three hours and I got over 100 *beams* I went back to Woodcock for awhile but I was way too tired to stay out. Yesterday I didn't do much of anything, I studied and then crashed at 2.

I think I did alright in Cultural anthropology. Not as well as I would have liked but not too shabby either. We shall see. I turned in my paper for my scholarship and I got my exams switched. I did NOT want to take Spanish and Math on the same day. Studying for those two would have been horrendous. I spoke to my Spanish teacher (who rawks hardcore) and she's letting me take it on friday ^_^

Now to work on my Humanities crap.

okay, time for a profile update.
Thursday:
It was a relatively slow day. I had to go and work..and what time did I have to work at? 8:00. For how long you ask? for an hour! We closed at 9 and then they said I could close. What a joke!
Everyone came and visited me and I was uber happy about that. When they left Mike hung around and we talked for awhile. Then NAtalie showed up just as I finished cleaning. We went out and saw the movie Hell Boy. Which was alright, it could have been better it could have been worse.
We met up with Dan and we went to Steak and Shake to eat. My waitress was not a happy lady o.o;; We had to sit in the smoking section which sucks. Now I don't want to be all preachy or exclusive but I HATE being by smoke. It hurts my lungs and my throat whenever I am exposed to a lot of smoke. It almost makes me not want to go out to eat if we're going to be stuck in the smoking section. Is that whiney of me? I don't think so and if it is too bad. But it's really uncomfortable for me to be stuck in that section ;-;
Nat and me left around 2:30 and that was the end of that day.
Friday:
I woke and went over to AQ to hang out with Joel. We went to the RPG game store which was really cool. We browsed through stuff and then headed back to AQ. Just as we got out of our cars Mike and Lore showed up. We talked for a little bit and she seemed like a really cool person. We left them for awhile cos they were going to watch some movies. Joel and me went back to Joel's room and I worked on my d20 character. I made Femma fatale..she's a martial artist. I like this system because there are vitality points. I need to look some stuff up. Joel had to leave cos he was gonna stay with his dad for the weekend. I went over and hung out with Lore and Mike for awhile. We watched a kind of trippy movie o.o Donnie Darkso or something. Then we watched the ring..creepy! I left around 10 or so and chilled online for the rest of the night.
Saturday:
A pretty slow day. I was going to see Starsky and Hutch with Lore and Mike later. Rob was online so I asked if he wanted to come and he said sure. We got there around 9:20 and looked for the others. I guess they must have slipped by us because at 9:45 mike came out and asked us if we just got htere. So we bought our tickets and went in and watched the movie. Afterwards we talked for another hour a half. Lore's an awesome person, it'll be fun to hang out with her again at Acen. Mike and her are so cute together too ^^
Sunday:
It was easter! I went to mass by myself which kinda sucked but my family went really early and I was too tired. Then my dad and bro went out to golf an dfmy mom had to work. I watched the Masters later on and I actually enjoyed it. Nothing else happened.
Today:
eeeh slow day XD But it's funny..over break my BL is so empty and now everyone is online again.
